No, you do not need a standard driver's license. Your guide will provide a safety briefing and basic instructions on how to operate the quad bike.
The minimum age for driving your own quad bike is typically 12 to 14 years old (this can vary slightly by operator, so confirm when booking). Younger children (usually 3 years old and up) can ride as a passenger with an adult.
Yes. All tours include a safety briefing, and the rides are led by experienced guides who set a comfortable pace. You will drive in a convoy.
Sandboarding is similar to snowboarding but is generally easier to learn. You typically slide down the dunes while standing or sitting on the board. Your guide will provide instructions.
The quad biking portion is often around 40 minutes to 1 hour of driving time, and the camel ride is usually a short, traditional experience lasting about 5-10 minutes for photos and a brief trek.
Wear comfortable, loose, and light-colored clothing to stay cool. Closed-toe shoes (like trainers/sneakers) are highly recommended, as open sandals will fill with sand.
* Sunscreen and Sunglasses (essential for the sun and sand). * A Scarf/Head Cover (Arafatka) to protect your face and mouth from dust and wind (often available to rent or purchase at the quad station). * Camera/Phone for photos. * Cash for personal expenses, tips, and purchasing extra drinks or a scarf.
Most tours are scheduled for Sunrise or Sunset to avoid the intense midday heat and to offer beautiful views for photos. The cooler months (October to April) are generally more comfortable for desert activities.
No, for desert safaris in the immediate Sharm El Sheikh/Sinai area, you typically do not need the $25 entry visa. The free "Sinai Only" stamp received upon arrival is sufficient.
The majority are group tours led in a convoy. We offer a private tour option for an additional fee, allowing for a customized pace and route.
